The doctrine of the subordination of the Son to the Father is one that is rejected by many Christians. But I will show here that like a Son is subordinate to his Father so also is Jesus to his Father who is also our Father.
The bible shows Jesus was subordinate whilst on earth.
John 14:28Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
Philippians 2:5-8Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 and being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Mark 14:36Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
36 And he said, Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.
Luke 22:27Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
27 For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
John 5:19Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
19 Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
John 6:38Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.
John 7:16Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
Luke 4:18Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Matthew 20:23Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
23 And he saith unto them, Ye shall drink indeed of my cup, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with: but to sit on my right hand, and on my left, is not mine to give, but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared of my Father.
The subordination of Christ after the resurrection and before the ascension.
John 20:17Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
17 Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 for to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. 29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 30 by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
The subordination of Christ after the second coming.
1 Corinthians 15:28Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
I think these passages are clear the the Father is supreme over all including Jesus. But many people will continue to deny the plain scriptural truth and continue to follow the traditions of men.
